This problem seems to be fixed using the latest CVS build with support for the core=auto and cycles=auto. Setting the cycles to let the movies play well, then the gameplay runs too fast or too choppy. The only problem is that when the gameplay is working fine with the cycles set then the ingame movies are choppy. Well Warcraft 2 and its expantion has a split personality.
